To show our appreciation to those who worked so hard to make Brumanch Talentime a very successful event, the society treated the volunteers to an all FREE dinner at Rice! It was also the last event of the term as exams are approaching fast!

So without further ado, the picturessss

It was the event we’ve been waiting for! It was the event we’ve been planning and stressing about since summer! It was the event of the year, ofcourse! You all know what im talking about! BRUMANCH TALENTIME!

The Brumanch Talentime was a success! We had 25 performances, competing in 3 categories: Singing Solo, Singing Group and Dancing. 

Results:

Singing: Solo

  • First Place: Sanny Hassan
  • Second Place: Amir
  • Third Place: Jannah
  • Consolation Prize: Aki and Zatie

Singing: Group

  • First Place: The Imba Shiznet
  • Runner Up: Amir and Padel
  • Consolation Prize: Em and Riff

Dance:

  • First Place: The Sombreros
  • Consolation Prize:  Thirty Four Eighty Seven

Congratulation to  all the winners and well done to everyone who participated!

We would like to thank all of our sponsors who supported this event , and share our view for the need to provide a stage for individuals to showcase talents.

Last but not least, thank you to the committee and volunteers who worked sooo hard to make this Brumanch Talentime a GREAT one!

We had a buffet dinner at Tabak with Brumanch subsidizing abit for their member, THANK YOU =D

It was greaat seeing everyone in our Brunei flag’s colour! Its not easy to pull off  YELLOW, RED, BLACK AND WHITE without looking like a clown but thankfully, we didnt look too bad ;)

It was a greaat night where we saw Liyan with the highest score and Isa as the biggest loser! It was okay though, we still gave him a prize for that ;)

Assalamualaikum and Hellow to all Brumanchers,

Hopely everyone enjoyed the Brumanch Raya Celebration and all the ice breaking games. Hope everyone got the chance to catch up with others as well as meet new Brumanch members.

BGEMS 2008

This post is to announce that BruManch Society will hold its 2nd annual BGEMS.

Event: BGEMS (Brunei Games in Easter at Manchester for its Scholars)

Date: 1st & 2nd April
Location: Armitage and Sugden Sports Centre

Similar to last year, it will be a SHELL vs GOVERNMENT competition, and just like last year, there will be games which will count in the competition.

This year, we decide to prioritize group games, to make things more enjoyable for all.

Sporting Events
1st April – Armitage (1pm – 3pm)
- Football
- Netball (Female, Male and Mix)

2nd April – Sugden (1pm onwards)
- Volleyball
- Ultimate Frisbee, and
- Traditional and Fun Games – include KAYU tiga, Ballon and Dodge Ball etc…

How to register?
We have allocated focal points for the two teams. These are the people you have to contact if you wish to participate in any of the games.

Shell – Suria (suria_suria301@hotmail.com) & Kher Wee Young (kher.young@gmail.com)

The registration fee is still undecided, but it should be around 3 – 4 pounds depending on the number of people who turn up for the event. You will only have to pay once, and will be able to participate in an unlimited number of games.

Congrats to Brumanch Boys who got FIRST PLACE in football and Brumanch Girls who got SECOND PLACE in netball in the Bruleics Games.

The BruLeics games will be held today (the 8th of March) in Leicester – so good luck to the netball-ers, and footballers that are representing Brumanch today! :)

Also, Bru Nite by Imperial College will also be held tonight so have fun to all those watching it.
